Agricultural Statistics
Description:
The Agricultural Statistics module presents All-India and State-wise time-series data on area, production and yield (APY) of major foodgrains, non-food crops, horticulture crops, plantation crops, etc. It also provides data relating to distribution of agricultural land by use, area under irrigation (source-wise and crop-wise) and production and use of agricultural inputs (viz., seeds, chemical fertilisers, pesticides and electricity).
The module also covers data relating to procurement, off-take and stocks of foodgrains, and net availability of foodgrains and other important articles of consumption on per capita and annual basis.
The module also covers Rainfall Statistics.
Considering the growing importance of allied activities, the module additionally provides data on Livestock population, production of milk, eggs, fish and poultry produce.
Data on the value of output from agriculture and allied activities, both at constant and current prices, are provided in the module. Further, the module presents data on Minimum Support Prices of crops.
The period of coverage is from 1950-51 to 2016-17, depending upon the data availability in the official sources.
